About Us
Organization and Management:
The general body and the elected executive committee guide the overall policymaking and management of Sachetan Society, which are consisted of 21 and 07 members respectively. The General Secretary of the EC acts as the Executive Director of the organization. Under the Executive Director there is a fleet of experienced, educated and motivated workers and managers.
Philosophy:
All human beings have own creativeness whatever their educational level and position in the society; it is to develop the creativeness for human wellbeing and changing inhuman situation.

Considering the factors, Sachetan organize and mobilize the downtrodden people with its interventions so that they have a better realization of their rights and entitlements, can stand their own foot, and undertake necessary steps for their development and access their rights and justice, which contribute to good governance and sustainable development and make them free from poverty.

Poverty Free Bangladesh, where people will live in a democratic society with their own rights and dignity.
Mission:
To work with the landless, destitute and socially downtrodden people and their organizations in order to establish their rights and dignity, governance practices and to improve access to justice, opportunities, resources and services.

Goal:
To improve the socio-economic condition and protection of the target people (poor, landless, marginal farmer, ultra poor, destitute women, downtrodden people, children and minorities) in minimum standards.
Objectives and steps for Social development:
- Mobilize and empower the targeted people through awareness and education to reduce their social, economical, environmental and health related vulnerabilities.
- Strengthen people’s organization through capacity building and leadership development to ensure good governance, services and justice for the abused, exploited and poor.
- Fights and community campaign against discrimination and violence towards women to establish women’s rights and dignity in the family and society.
- Create familial, societal and institutional sensitivity towards the creativity, education and skills of youths to reduce the causes of poverty, injustice, abuse and exploitation.
- Improve livelihoods and small-scale income generating activities of vulnerable people, especially women to ensure their participation in family and society.
- Fight and take immediate action for children’s rights to protection, participation, and education and establish functional juvenile justice system.
- Prevention and protection of vulnerable people, especially women, working and street children from sexual abuse, exploitation, trafficking, and STD/HIV/AIDS.
- Increase the mass awareness and education on primary health, reproductive health and rights, hygiene, EPI and STD/HIV/AIDS among the people living in vulnerable zone.
- Fights for demanding and improving primary health care, safe water and sanitation as well as to improve overall health conditions of the vulnerable people.
- Establish strong platform with government, non-government and private sectors to promote rights based approach and ensure the rights, entitlements and services for poor.
- Advocate and facilitate the local government to ensure the people’s participation in development, transparency, accountability, and good governance.
- Improve and integrate climate change adaptation (CCA) and disaster risk reduction (DRR) strategies to reduce its adverse impact on life, livelihood and environment, and response.
- Build the capacity of farmer and women on advance agriculture & fish culture technology and natural resource management to ensure food security and CCA.
- Foster organizational capacity, democratic practices, values, and development framework to bloom the sustainability of its management and programs adding new dimensions.
Finance
Sachetan Society’s finance is based on projects but it also strives to generate local funds for future self-reliance.
